Intern Chronicles - Lillie

A blog from one of our very own 6˚ interns:
Lillie Bennett

Hi! My name is Lillie Bennett and I am currently a senior at Point Loma Nazarene University. I’m graduating in 35 days...but who’s counting, right!? I am also the Community/Events/Social Media Intern for 6˚.

My time as an intern with 6˚ has been a time for me to immerse myself in the business world and learn a lot about what happens behind the scenes of a successful company. When I first started, I was pretty nervous. I wasn’t really sure what I would be doing as the Community/Events/Social Media Intern. In fact, I actually worked at one of the events before I even had my orientation! I was pleasantly surprised when I began my internship and realized I would be working so closely with the people who make the big decisions for the company. The opportunity to have my first internship at a company where my opinion matters and my voice is heard is something that I’m incredibly thankful for.

So, you’re probably dying to know--what do I actually do at 6˚? I will share with you just a few of the tasks I am responsible for here. I communicate with members to make sure all of their questions are answered and to keep them in the loop! I’m also in charge of promoting events on the company’s social media pages. I’m also one of the faces you see right when you walk in the door at the events! I’m there to check you in and (hopefully) know your name by now. For me, the best part about this internship is that I’m learning a lot, but also having a ton of fun. I enjoy the time I spend in the office because there is so much variety in what I do every day. Whether it be emailing members, creating a new graphic for an upcoming event or writing up a few Facebook posts, my time spent working with 6˚ is never boring.
